Joel S. Fetzer, J. Christopher Soper, Muslims and the State in Britain, France, and Germany, Cambridge University Press, 2004
This book considers how the three European states have attempted to accommodate Muslim religious practices from the early 1990s to the present day. It analyses theories of resource mobilization, political-opportunity structure, and ideology as explanations, and goes on to propose that historical relationships between the institutions of church and state shape each individual country's approach to Muslims.
