Fashion Matters: Fashion and Faith

Friday

22 May

19.00

20.30

The third in the Fashion Matters series organised jointly by the

London College of Fashion and the V&A looks at how fashion

increasingly plays a part in the expression of faith identities.

Women today find it easy to meld fashion with faith, served by

specialist retailers and a new style media. Yet, in debates about

citizenship and belonging, it is often the expression of faith

through dress that provides the flash point. James Welch, legal

director of Liberty, Emma Tarlo, of Goldsmiths College and others

join LCF Professor Reina Lewis to debate the contradictions

inherent in these positions.
